Introduction
Welcome to Creative Questing!
You are standing at the beginning of a whole new way of understanding your creativity
& how it threads its way through your life.
In the coming weeks, we are going to explore many interesting ideas including:
- the 8 stages of a DREAM project
- the 10 main types of energy that swirl around you everyday
( how they affect you & your DREAM Project) - how to navigate your creative spiral path (without losing your way)
- the best ways to balance doing, thinking & resting during your day
& SO much more!
As you know, this is a pilot version of the Creative Questing experience.
It will change & evolve as we go along.
I’m looking forward to incorporating your insights & feedback to
design an enriching & transforming experience.
We’ll be bouncing back & forth between both sides of our brains, because that’s
how TRUE creativity works by melding the analytical left brain, linear thought
patterns with the intuitive, right brain creative meanderings.
To be truly inspired, creative & productive the two must work in harmony.
During your Creative Quest, you may find guides to show you your way,
muses to illuminate brilliant new ideas, challenges that may test your resolve
& tools to help you accomplish what you’ve set out to achieve.
Shall we begin ?
Charting Your Creative Constellations
In this creative exercise, you will discern WHICH of your big projects is
your current DREAM Project.
Like most creatives you probably have many projects in your mind or sketchbooks
or on your idea boards.
That’s a sign that you’re really good at ideating & being inspired.
To actually make any progress on a project you have to narrow down your
options a little!
It’s time to choose ONE to focus on for your Creative Quest.
Download the Creative Constellation template HERE & then watch the video lesson.
If you aren’t sure which of your many projects to include in the exercise, start with
the first 4 that pop into your head.
They can be completely unrelated or 4 aspects of a big project.
Remember, your Creative Quest is as much about learning how to cultivate your
creative practice as it is to actually complete your DREAM Project.
You can’t set out on a journey if you don’t have a destination in mind!
Fine Tuning Your Focus
How did you do ?
I know that you probably have many projects in mind & that’s OK – but
did you TRY to pick just 4 for this exercise ?
Give it a few days & see what comes up for you.
You KNOW which project is your DREAM Project already but sometimes it’s
hard to bypass the brain chatter that tries to tell you what you “should” do
or what is “best for you” at the moment.
Get really still & quiet (maybe on a walk in the woods or by some water) & listen.
You might hear a tiny whisper…
Since many Questers have big projects or GREAT big projects with lots of
components, we’re going to do another exercise to help you
fine tune your focus in the next section... .

Preparation
Where Do I Begin ?
.
In this phase of your Creative Quest, you will prepare & anticipate.
A Dream Project is BIG & has many moving parts (that’s what sets it apart from a regular, garden-variety project)!
It’s not hard to drift off course when you have so much on your mind.
What I’ve discovered is that the more you prepare in advance for your Quest, the smoother it will go.
In fact, not only will the Project turn out better but you’ll have more fun doing it !
.
Watch the video to learn why it’s a GOOD thing take the time to get ready before you set out …
Divining Your Dazzling Compass Star
This hands-on activity combines an ancient symbol with some modern mind-mapping.
Set aside some quiet, me-time to watch the first video & be ready to do some drawing!
There’s a supply list outlined in the video but I’ll include it here too
so you can have everything with you
– just in case you decide to watch somewhere other than home….
- A large un-lined sketchbook or notebook
(preferably the one you’ll use during your Creative Quest ) - Some scrap sheets of paper
- A delicious collection of pens, pencils, markers (maybe a few metallic ones !)
- Your favourite beverage & a small snack (you’ll need it!)
- About 20 – 30 minutes of uninterrupted (alone) time
In the next video, we’ll take a look at some of the finer points (ha, ha – get it?) of the pentacle.
Then, I’ll show you how to transform your pentacle into a Dazzling Compass Star –
(warning – there may be glitter involved!) .

the videos – Promise ?!?)
