Here is the very first Making Space Call ~
It was so exciting to talk about things that really matter to you & have a chance to share some of my ideas & tips in a relaxed space.
In this call, I spoke with Julie (the brave one who got up early….in HAWAII…to come to the call – THANKS for being with me Julie!!) about what it’s like for her to be out & about with her babes during the day fielding ‘those’ questions from strangers, her chosen curriculum & the challenges she faces having 3 children of various ages & needs at home.
We also covered questions about creativity & inspiration, helping children play/learn on their own & ways to ease into adding handwork to our days. There were also a questions about knitting clothes for a ferret (!) & ways to keep children engaged in their knitting projects.
Lastly, there was a technical knitting question which I decided would be easier to demonstrate than describe so I’ll be recording a video response & posting it below.
As you’ll see, we covered a lot in a short time !
At the end of the call, I presented an Awareness Exercise. I believe it’s vitally important that we step back sometimes & look at what’s working (or not) in our homeschools as well as what really lights us & our kids up.
Why keep doing something unless it’s enjoyable? There are a million ways to teach your children, if you give one your best effort & it just doesn’t work for your child (or you), then ditch it & try something else !

My voice is a bit scratchy from my cold & the camera on my husband’s computer isn’t the best but it was all I had, since MY computer was on ‘vacation’ in Poland which is where computers apparently need to be send to be repaired around here… all in all, the call is packed with ideas & great content. It was a lot of fun & I will be doing many, many more !
